How the hydrangea behaves in a vase

The hydrangea is the first to show signs of fatigue, and it is also the one that recovers most dramatically: if it starts to droop, submerge the entire flower in a basin of cold water for 20–30 minutes, then put it back. It needs plenty of water, so keep the vase three-quarters full and check the level every evening. The other flowers only need clean water and a diagonal trim with each water change; the bouquet looks good for 5–7 days.
